SeanCo was formed in April 2002 by Sean Hamill as a goal to involve his personal hobby of designing and creating websites into a worthwhile career. Shortly after forming his company, he received his first contract through a family member, which soon showed others his capability for programming and developing an online commerce system. Within a year, Sean and a gathering of his close friends created a site for a very successful sales company run out of Victoria, B.C. This specific client became even more successful and his sales sky-rocketed. This online industry soon became the niche market for SeanCo's main development contracts.
In early 2004, Sean received a call from Amazon, who walked him through the interface for managing products within the Amazon storefront. SeanCo received requests from organizations all over the United States and Canada to manage all of their online products within the Jewellery and Watches sections of Amazon.com.
By late 2004, Sean received a contract for a local university known as University Canada West. This new university was in desperate need of a web designer who could finish their website properly in a short time-frame. Sean and his crew worked quickly and pushed this website out in under a week. Shortly after this websites release, SeanCo received the contract to develop this universities entire online portal system. To date, this portal system has been one of the largest projects SeanCo has developed from the ground up. This portal was known as MyUCW.
By late 2006, SeanCo had received 20 customized
portal and commerce systems from clients in Victoria and Vancouver alone, including a Vendor Purchasing Script for The City of Victoria.
To date, SeanCo has received over 1,000 design, development and advertising contracts world-wide.
About the CEO ...
Sean Hamill grew up in Victoria, BC where attended the University of Victoria for a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Computer Science, with Software Engineering option, and Minor in Mathematics. Sean also attended Camosun College and received his Web Design Certificate in July 2004. Sean is a self-taught entrepreneur, who has been designing and developing online systems since the age of fourteen.
During high school he developed an online, interactive gaming website that attracted in the high tens of thousands of unique visitors per day. Post high school, Sean created his own web design company, named after him as a joke to humor his friends and family. Sean was soon unable to escape this company name, as his talents spread like wildfire across Victoria and many cities through the United States.
Over the years, Sean managed to setup two primary offices in downtown Victoria and Halifax, serving over one-thousand clients from all over the globe.
